Hobbes and Locke

Hobbes and Locke Political philosophy was reborn in the Renaissance and expanded upon in the Enlightenment. Thomas Hobbes and John Locke were two men that appeared at this time, and both changed the course of human and governmental thought. …of revolutionaries. The French, American, and Glorious Revolutions all were based on the idea of a society where the subjects respect and submit to their ruler. The time when the two men lived was a time of an ever-changing society. Both philosophies influenced vast amounts of people, even though they were completely different. This acceptance of two totally different ideas shows the openness of Europeans to new ideas, and the desire to improve their society.
