How Kawasaki disease effects children

Kawasaki Disease is a disease that affects young children. It can cause any of these symptoms: fever, skin rash, bloodshot eyes, swollen lymph nodes, heart problems, and/or joint problems. No one knows exactly what causes Kawasaki disease. Some doctors think a virus or bacteria may cause it. The illness can last from 2 weeks to a few months. …all, children seem to recover fine from this disease. Less than 1% of those affected die from the disease. Early detection is the most important. Since there is no disease specific exam for this disease, symptoms are used for diagnosis once all other possibilities (strep-throat, mono, rheumatic fever, etc.) have been expelled.
