…human beings are ultimately concerned with the lives they lead and income though important is only insturmental in achieving this. hence poverty as capability failure is much more relevant than income poverty and can provide the invariant absolutist core to poverty identification. poverty as capability failure is more intense than income poverty. the absolutist core or the set of functionings do not change generally. however variations in relative deprivation affect the intensity of capability failure.
