…science achieving grounds that allow intellectuals to alter natural biology at increased complexity, it is all too easy to envision the breakdown of long-held ethical principles and consequently the abuse of scientific power by the minds of liberated intellects. Taking into consideration humanity's endless endeavor to subordinate the actual processes of life, the visions of H.G. Wells perhaps should be regarded not as entertaining and thought-provoking fiction, but rather as a realistic, cautionary parable.
