Is America a Democracy?

"America, the land of free and the home of the brave"-- this common phrase puts a tear in most people's eye when heard. However, "America the democracy" doesn't quite have the same ring when spoken. Depending on the person, some people might say that America is a democracy, and others might not agree. Likewise, a math teacher might say that a rectangle is not always a square, whereas a student might not agree. The …

…more people don't vote, there might be another Bill Clinton in office (None of the Above 1). Overall, people should vote; if they don't they are being led through life by somebody else. They are saying, "I don't care what happens, so just stick a carrot in front of me and I will follow." Everyone may cry when America the Beautiful is sung but it is America who cries when people turn away on Election Day.
