Without penicillin today we would still be dying from what seems now to be simple bacterial infections. Even though some bacteria are antibiotic-resistant we are coming up with a way to put chemicals in it so that the penicillin will be more effective. Without the discovery of penicillin, maybe half the population of the world would not be here.
