It was mainly a civil war led by various leaders for whom their personal agenda of acquiring power was what drove this battle. An illusion of it being a revolution was created because of Mexico's prior history and the longevity of the war but overall it is my opinion that the Mexican revolution is not justifiably called a revolution.
