Joan of Arc

Joan of Arc, in French, Jeanne d'Arc, also called the Maid of Orleans, was a patron saint of France and a national heroine. She led the resistance to the English invasion of France in the Hundred Years War. Despite her reputation as a warrior, Joan testified at her trial that she never killed a man. She preferred carrying her standard herself during attacks to avoid killing anyone.
