John Berger in his essay, "Ways of Seeing," claims that images of art have become ephemeral, insubstantial, available, and value less. Weather commercialized or not, having a reproduced copy of the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne, or the Mona Lisa shows that one might be cultured, and educated about the finer things in life. Those who are unable to see the real thing should have the privilege to enjoy just as much as those who are able, even if it means mass commercialization.
