Keep Abortion Legal

Prior to the 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, abortion was illegal in most states. The 5-4 decision favoring the plaintiff in this case defined a constitutional right to privacy on the basis of which the Court said abortion should be allowed in certain cases. …by anyone for the choice she makes. People will always try to persuade her one way or the other, and maybe they will save her from doing something she would have regretted for the rest of her life. Or maybe she will wish she had decided to go the other way. The point is, no one knows what the future holds for either decision so the choice should be there. People simply must have options.
