Legalization of Marijuana

…it would no longer be a crime to be in possession of small amounts of marijuana, one of the main causes of having a high minority incarceration rate. Marijuana use was deemed a crime out of ignorance and racial prejudice. The Marijuana Act of 1937 was passed through Congress by misinforming and blatantly lying to make marijuana, which at the time was relatively unknown, a bad and malicious name and associated with the depths of society.
