…to become engineers, they need to learn maths such as trigonometry". Another teacher walked passed and overheard this conversation. He stated, "What would someone like you need trigonometry for? You are just a welder". This comment is very much untrue. My father uses maths especially trigonometry every day for such jobs as stairs, roof supports, etc. Just because my father is a labourer, this teacher thought his was stupid and not as 'cultured' as himself.
