…really a matter of opinion - there is evidence to support both sides all throughout the play. One of the main things supporting that love is stronger than hate is Juliet's reaction at finding out who Romeo is. She says to herself, "My only love, sprung from my only hate! To early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me, that I must love a loathed enemy" (I.v).
