Advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations, and sales managers are provided with offices close to those of top managers. Long hours, including evenings and weekends, are common. Almost 38 percent of advertising, marketing, and public relations managers worked 50 hours or more a week in 2000. Working under pressure is unavoidable when schedules change and problems arise, but deadlines and goals must be achieved.
