Are so called Megan's laws a good idea? Most definitely; Megan's law is designed to help protect a community by providing information about convicted sex offenders. …world would cave in on me. I would do anything and everything in my power to protect my children, yet I know that I would be effected enormously by an experience like this. Who wouldn't? I would not want an offender coming back into my community. I sympathize for the families that have had to go through an unforgettable experience like the Kankas' and Wengerts' but I savor no remorse for the sex offender himself.
