Modified Neck Snare

Many researchers opt for the most humane and safe techniques when obtaining live animals for study. A variety of devices are employed in the trapping of coyotes (Canis latrans), one option being the neck snare. From these results researchers concluded that the modifications; enlargement of the snare diameter, removal of sharp edges, a firm anchor wire and the addition of the diazepam tab; were effective in capture efficiency, lowering occurrence of lacerations and decreasing death rates. .
