Robert J. Flaherty's non-fiction, silent documentary film, "Nanook of the North (1922)" was about the everyday life of Nanook, Nahla, his wife, Ollie his eldest son and Rainbow his youngest child. …shooting a natural film. He also shoots and picks up many things he probably did not recognize while shooting. Flaherty succeeded because he put in so much time in the film. A year was spent in order to complete the film after ten years of his experience. Although many criticized his film due to inaccuracy of Inuit life in the 20th century, the film is still recognized as one of the best ever made today.
