Napoleon the People's General
Napoleon Bonaparte Napoleon I (1769-1821), emperor of the France, who made reforms after the French Revolution. One of the greatest military commanders of all time, he conquered the larger part of Europe and did much to modernize the nations he conquered. Perhaps the most interesting of all his achievements and exploits was the fact that he was able to maintain his status throughout one of the most turbulent periods of French and World history. In
all the evils he created in his later days were somewhat balanced by the reforms he made to the old system of Europe; some of which are still carried on today, such as the Napoleonic Code. He used his charisma and leadership to maintain his favour among the people of France and this may have been the biggest factor in his ability to maintain his power and position longer than anyone else since the revolution.
