A few of the building blocks are a common language, traditions, history, common political and economical and judicial systems beliefs, and hope for a grand future. Nationalism resulted in many wars of independence and led to the creation of almost 200 separate nations by the twentieth century. In Asia, nationalism was the result of opposition to western imperialism and colonial control.
