Nature vs. Nurture

The debate concerning 'nature vs. nurture' is one of three controversial issues argued when psychologists talk of human development. One side will argue the point of nature, saying genetics hold the key that unlocks human development. On the other hand, some will say the environment in which one is raised, or nurtured in, significantly influence development. …another and in other events, thereby changing ourselves in the process. The mechanistic viewpoint, on the other hand, views humans as being controlled by rewards or punishment. As one can see, there are many factors that contribute to our development as human beings. Yet one can only speculate as to what really makes us who we are. It could be instinctive or learned, but the question has yet to be answered, at least for certain.
