…even be considered a punishment. Statistics show that it is not a deterrent, it is often times applied unfairly to minorities, and overall costs are more than life in prison. The government should not be able to sentence people to die, with so many flaws in the system. Murder is wrong, and murderers do have to pay for their crime, but life in prison without parole is an adequate punishment for even the worst crimes.
