In the first chapter of Politics & Public Policy, the authors utilize this part of the book to bring about a brief synopsis of the upcoming chapters. They introduce the idea that in their book they wish to explain how political institutions undergo constant changes in order to keep the policy-making process successful. …as the second chapter brought new ideas that I was not familiar with. I found the section on "Government Role in a Strong Economy" to be interesting. The authors bring up good points by saying that policy making was easier during the 1950's and 1960's, I never really gave it much thought. After reading these chapters I feel like I have a firmer grasp on the policy making and economic issues that dominate our culture.
