…People can go there today and walk through what is left of the city. Many possessions from the homes have been discovered, but not a lot. Researchers think that many of the people who ran from the volcano, took most of their important things with them. Although Mt. Vesuvius destroyed the entire city of Pompeii and many people died, it is one of the most famous events that has happened in the history of volcanoes.
