Potato Famine
Patrick McDowell walked with his head down, on his way home from visiting his soon-to-be wife. He was a potato farmer, which was very noticeable by the way he wore the same clothes everyday but Sunday, a raggedy pair of pants and a plaid button down. When he got home, on the sunny day in Ireland, his parents were sitting on a small couch, in their tiny cabin on the outside of the town. As

The famine had taken their families to the point where they had to separate. As Patrick and Kerry both stepped aboard the ship, they thought about how their lives would be bettered in America.
