Ancient civilizations formed what Latin America is today. Their original pagan beliefs were combined with the new ideas that came with the Spanish conquest, creating a unique form of Christianity. …I catch myself thinking how would life be now in America if it had not been conquered by the Europeans more than five hundred years ago. Things would be certainly different; the genocide committed against Native Americans would have never occurred and great civilizations with brilliant cultures would still be practicing their rites and traditions.
