Proud to be a Sikh
My name is pardeep Singh this name has been given to me by our living Guru, Guru Granth sahib ji. Sikhism was founded in Punjab, India by Guru Nanak dev ji. After Guru Nanak Dev ji there were nine gurus to lead Sikhism into the next generation and teach us the principles of Sikhism. They sacrificed their lives to keep the religion alive and growing. Our tenth guru started baptism on March 30 1699, which is called
chastity. Kirpan: Ceremonial Sword. A symbol of dignity and the Sikh struggle against injustice. It is worn purely as a religious symbol and not as a weapon. So as you can see these are very tuff, strict principles of which many people cannot abide to and they try to fit in by getting a haircut, eating meat etc. As I stand here I can truthfully say me and my family are proud to be Sikhs.
