Assess the condition of the Roman Catholic Church on the eve of the reformation. In the 1400 - 1500's there were many changes that took place. These changes were religious, political, social and economical. In the 1500, a large part of Europe was Christian. Muslims were common too though, especially in Spain. …Lourdes being fashionable. Despite a fall in support, millions of people were still devout Catholics; and it formed a major part of their lives. They attended church every Sunday and holy days. However regardless of the former power possessed by the church; the facts speak for themselves. The weaknesses greatly outnumber the strengths. Reformation was inevitable, the popes and the clergy were too busy with personal satisfaction than to realise the dissatisfaction within the church.
