In the modern society today, homosexuals are more accepted than ever before. Most of the general public is in favor of equal rights to gays and lesbians pertaining to housing, jobs, public accommodations and equal access to government benefits. However, when it comes to same sex marriages, why is this society so adamant not to let them marry? Furthermore, with gay relationships becoming progressively more prevalent in today's society there is no reason they should not have the same privileges as heterosexual couples. The religious standpoint of this issue has little relevance anymore as the Bible's teachings are not the framework of our government. Legalizing gay marriage can only improve our society by making a large part of the population feel socially accepted and content.
