Santa Barbara Museum of Art Report (for Art Appreciation class)

My report is about my visit to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. This is the first real art museum that I think I have ever visited. After touring all of the paintings and special exhibits I found that the special exhibits that were currently on display were not my taste. The main exhibition was all about Chinese art. …by a pretty blue sky filled with white clouds. I believe that top lighting is being used with the natural midday sunlight creating small shadows under the objects. The painting contains a very wide aspect ratio (it is almost twice as wide as it is tall) that lends itself a nice panoramic perspective, which sets the work apart from the majority. I enjoyed the visit to the museum and have a new appreciation for art.
