…scene, once Shylock no longer has the advantage and his life is now at stake, Antonio gives Shylock mercy. This shows to me that Antonio is a kind and merciful man, something Shylock should learn from. With these reasons I believe Antonio is a model for how the rest of the world should react and how their attitudes should be towards others. For these reasons, Antonio is the character I most admire in the play.
