A Historical Review of The Sound of Music I chose to review this movie for many reasons. First of all, because it is one of the better "classic" movies and my mom has always liked it. …up. All of their names were changed in the movie and the oldest child was male and not the girl Leisl. As far as I can tell the rest of the characters were fictional and loosely based on real people of the time. For example, Herr Zeller was an officer for the Nazi's. Although with a partial American bias, I think he fairly accurately portrayed the attitudes of the Nazi party as strict and plotting.
