Strategic dissonance
Strategic dissonance is what Praxim is facing. Their implied strategic intent has always been to build the best relationships of any PC supplier with corporate clients. They appear to do this better than their competitors do. However, they have also been happy to take profits off the top end of the consumer market. Now that profits are falling, and the consumer division is to blame, there is a conflict between their mission, and what actually
course of action. Fund the consumer market separately with a limited budget to keep this initiative from harming the overall enterprise if it does fail. This would put a cap on potential losses, and keep Linda from moving faster than Praxim can handle. If the consumer market succeeds, it will be incorporated into normal operations or spun off as a separate unit, and it will have less opposition because of an early record of success.
