Successful Relationships

Successful relationships can be formed through many different ways of attraction including similarity of interest, differences that are complementary, reciprocal attraction, competence, self-disclosure, and proximity. Because of the presence of many of these factors, my parents began a relationship that has endured for almost twenty years. …some day I can have the same long lasting, enjoyable, positive personal relationship that they have. I believe that they got to where they are today through the different levels of intimacy that they share, the ability to disclose information about themselves, and the respect they have for one another. All of these things did not come overnight for them. These elements are a result of hard work and devotion towards a positive personal relationship.
