Supply Chain Management.
Supply chain management (SCM) is the practice of coordinating the flow of goods, services, information and finances as they move from raw materials to parts supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer. This process includes order generation, order taking, information feedback and the efficient and timely delivery of goods and services. In order for a business to be successful, the chain must remain as uncluttered as possible to insure the most productive working
into their supply process. Upon research, it is discovered that some of their inventory, say for example their milkshake mix, traveled through several unnecessary stages on it way to the retail store. This information is relayed to the main office of the company, where upper management makes the decision to eliminate these steps from the supply chain process. With just this simple step, the company cuts unnecessary losses, thus making their supply chain more efficient.
