Origination: The synagogue originated in Biblical times when the temple in Jerusalem was the center of Jewish life. The oldest dating of a synagogue ever existing is from the 3rd century B.C., but synagogues likely have an older history. …much about them in class, except for the fact that they became the house of worship and devotion after the temple was destroyed. The research and gathering of information on synagogues was complicated and hard to find specific details on it. When we surfed the net, there was a lot of information about synagogues in the area and chat with the rabbi sites, but not much information on how the synagogue developed and started.
