It was this that in turn caused the attitude of the Supreme Court to change, and led to the landmark in American history of the Brown v Board of Education ruling in 1954. The Second World War had allowed the African American to gain an appetite for more prosperity and with its newly found assertiveness the African American would now not stand for anything less.
