When the question "Do you feel that corporations are justified in laying employees off while continuing to make profit?" was presented to me I had mixed emotions towards the subject. My emotions said of course they aren't justified and they should not be laying off employees when they are making a profit but I began to think logically about the consequences of not laying off employees when you are currently making a profit. …which can mean cutting costs and as a result jobs. Also, they are justified because some jobs that are obsolete need to be removed so a company can remain profitable and offer job security to the rest of the employees. Lastly, corporations lay employees off as to remain a viable and profitable company to consumers on most occasions laying employees of can mean the survival of a company and for these reasons it is acceptable.
