In addition, the expansion and the attention that was given through the politics became a powerful divisive force, which could not be solved by the compromise. Once the slavery issue had become a public issue and entered the politics, the conflict of the issue had to be solved. Even though the situation was solved, there were many casualties in trying to unravel this problem.
