The Educational Views of Mary Wollstonecroft

Mary Wollstonecraft is credited as the founder of modern European feminism. While the age of Enlightenment advocated freedom and equality over faith and worship, it also created a double standard by not providing the same opportunities and rights for women. …to approve of her. Mary Wollstonecraft's A Vindication of the Rights of Women gave new perspectives concerning equal educational rights between men and women. This view paved the way to demonstrate that women had the abilities to reason and acquire knowledge just as much as men. She demonstrates that a core ideal of the Enlightenment, that education produce better human beings and therefore a better society, should be the goal for both men and women.
