The Existence of God

One of the most basic assertions held by the majority within modern society is the belief in a being known as God. Societies throughout history have held varied beliefs, in terms of their faith in a higher power, at times holding the belief in a multitude of gods. Beginning with the inception of Judaism, which gave root to the religions of Christianity and Islam, the worship of a single God has become the predominant faith …

…one in which people are demanding cold, hard facts rather than mere faiths or folkways. Despite this however, the existence of a God somehow continues to be a predominant belief in societies across the world. Given the lack of tangible evidence to support these beliefs, it seems as though this assertion of existence is merely more of a coping strategy or malleable method of obtaining or maintaining power, than it is a fact based reality.
