Too often, when the term genetic engenering is uttered, people envision a world of geneticly "perfect" people where thouse who are normal are looked down on by genetic supermen. "The future geneticist will seek the connection between the gene and the complex chromosome, between the gene and cell structure, between the gene and the evolving population" (Ravin 203). However, without increased funding, these geneticists of the future are doomed to fail as they will not have the resources they need. This is why funding must be increased for genomic research.
