The Great Depression: causes and cures

The 1930's and in general, some years following the first world war were some of the worst years in history. Billions of people worldwide were unemployed and homeless as men and women alike, in countries everywhere, struggled to support their families, and keep their children from starving. Although Roosevelt's New Deal was met with a recession and did not permanently fix the economy, his keynesian based program did provide immediate recovery and relief to the American people and in addition, the New Deal legacy lives on today as many of his ideas and administrations still exist today to prevent another Great Depression.
