The Great Louisiana Purchase bought by Thomas Jefferson from France in 1803 helped expand the United States' boundaries immensely. Explored by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, the territory had much to offer. Though, the two explorers weren't alone in their journey across the nation. have alone. The leadership and lifesaving skills the two talented men had to bring to the caravan. Without these men, Lewis and Clark may never have gotten their expedition past the many challenges they faced, but thankfully, the face of science and exploration was changed to allow the migration of the many pioneers to the northwest. Without this crucial expansion, the United States may never have become the thriving and powerful nation it is today.
