Design is underway on the 350 eV hohlraum target for National Ignition Facility (NIF) applications. …In this smaller, hotter NIF hohlraum, both the motion of the wall and of the ablator inhibits the power deposition of the inner beam to the hohlraum wall. Thus, to hold back the wall and the ablator, the H-He gas fill inside the hohlraum has been increased.
