…economy was reduced to ruble, as people struggled to recover. Russia however, had also acquired new military technology, as well as new territory from Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. The Soviet people now remember the war with pride of the victory they had won, yet at the same time with fear at the devastation that it had wrought on them and their families. Russia had received the deepest wounds from the bloodiest war in human history.
