World War One has been said to have been one of the most bloody, as well as the most pointless wars of all time. The conflict ultimately arose in 1914 from the assassination of a mostly nameless and unknown Archduke Franz Ferdinand, who was the heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Due to the goals of the Leaders involved in the creation of the Treaty of Versailles, the treaty was created out of haste and many factors were overlooked. This procured a settlement that was flawed, and resulted in making Germany a country full of anger and hatred, which was fuelled by Hitler and thrust into a new German war machine with a target of European domination.
