The Vision of Mary HEaton Vorse, brief biography and my opinion

It is easy to caricature the late nineteenth century as a time of corruption, scandal-plagued politics, conspicuous consumption, and unfettered capitalism. …their goals of fair wages and less hour work days would soon be able to rejoice in getting what they had hoped for. She wanted there to be humanity in America. Because of her efforts and those of many others like her, these dreams eventually became realities. Today, worker's right and women's rights are at a point that when taken and compared to the early nineteen hundreds, tremendous progress may be seen over those years.
