The Crusades.

The Crusades were a series of wars fought by Western European Christians to recapture Jerusalem, the holy land, (modern-day Palestine), from the Muslims. Pope Urban II called the European Christians to go to Palestine to free Jerusalem and other holy places from the hands of Muslim domination. …effects- such as the new goods from the East, the spread of Christianity, and the extension of the European Empire- but also many negative effects- for example the number of lives that were lost during this battle between both religions. Also there was rivalry, which came between the Christians and Muslims. In my opinion, the Crusades as a whole, was a negative event because so many people died needlessly and achieved little in doing so.
