The First Amendment; is it still fundemental today?
The First Amendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievance." There are many historical debates about what our founding fathers wrote in 1791. So many questions have been left unanswered, but there's one fact; there are many
it's to better our society. This is why I think the First Amendment is not fundamental today. It hasn't been adapted into the world we live in today. To adapt you must have change; the First Amendment should be revised. Not necessarily make new laws, but modify it to keep our country secure and safe. This way there would be less controversial debates about the First Amendment and the security it has in our nation.
