The American Constitution is, without dispute, one of the most significant political achievements of western civilization. The authors of the Constitution expounded the philosophy of their own political world, while at the same time leaving a legacy to protect, guide, and shape their country throughout all of history. The Office of the President was created with the purpose of being easily balanced and subordinated by the other two branches of government. The Founding Fathers did not ever intend to create a strong chief executive for the very reasons we see happening within the American government today. Unchecked by congressional power, the President wastes no time in exalting himself to kingship.
